John Mazzeo, a construction professional with over 15 years of experience focused on the New York City and tri-state real estate market, brings a proven track record of leading complex projects from concept through groundbreaking. As Vice President of Preconstruction and Partner at Vorea, John oversees the company’s preconstruction and purchasing efforts, providing senior leadership during the most formative phase of project delivery. He directs the team responsible for estimating, budgeting, value engineering, scheduling, bid procurement, and trade contractor negotiations—setting the standards and processes that ensure each project enters construction with a clearly defined scope, accurate budget, and executable schedule. John collaborates closely with ownership, design teams, and the construction leadership group to align design intent with cost realities, identify risk early, and deliver projects positioned for success in the field. 

Prior to joining Vorea, John served in a range of senior roles across the industry, including Construction Project Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Owner’s Representative, and Project Executive. At his previous role of a prominent national developer, he led on-site construction management at 626 First Avenue (American Copper Buildings), a landmark mixed-use development on Manhattan’s East Side, among other ground-up executions. With L+M Development Partners, he led preconstruction efforts on significant projects including Bronx Point in the Bronx, 14 LeCount in Brooklyn, and 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City. John has additional experience with Good Developments Group and HAP Investments, contributing to a portfolio that spans market-rate, affordable, and mixed-income residential development across New York City. 

John’s perspective is grounded in his architectural training, holding a Bachelor of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Architecture with a focus in Real Estate Development from Woodbury University. This dual background allows him to bridge design and construction with rare fluency—translating architectural vision into buildable, cost-effective solutions while maintaining the design integrity that defines Vorea’s portfolio.
